Student Testimonial

"Today I brought a friend to your beginner salsa class. I had been telling her for weeks how much I love learning to Salsa and, in particular, how much I love classes at your studio. I remember wandering into a party a few months ago, unsure of myself, awkward and convinced I could never learn to dance. The first thing I noticed was the diversity of people attending the party - people of all ages, backgrounds, sexual orientations and skill levels were dancing with each other. Within five minutes of your beginner lesson, I remember thinking, hey! I can do this. The fun of learning to dance in such a friendly environment overrode my anxiety about not knowing how to dance yet. By the end of that first party, I was hooked.

When I started the beginner Salsa series, I was still a nervous student, so I just focused on learning the sequences. But this time, I was able to sit back and watch my friend enjoy what I had discovered when I f irst walked into your studio a few months ago. Sitting next to me  was a women watching her young teenage daughter, also in the class. She leaned over to me and said, "I don't ofen see her smile like that." Next to that young girl, I saw an older woman with the same smile. And next to them was my friend, also smiling. And I know that smile - I have left class many times with it plastered across my face.

I know you don't see this - you're busy teaching - so I wanted to tell you that i's happening for them as it happened for me. Watching the two of you teach was a wonderful treat: I can see how important it is to you that everyone has a good ime learning how to dance. I think that you are both such naturally gifted teachers that you don' realize what a rare talent it is. That's why I'm writing you this letter to tell you that it's no small thing to teach nervous beginners how to love to dance - to give them a sense of mastery in only an hour.

I left class today with such a feeling of gratitude for what you have brought to my life and to this neighborhood. You have not just taught me some spectacularly sexy salsa; you have welcomed me into a community of amazing people with generous hearts and supersauce moves. So congratulations on your upcoming two year anniversary. May there be many more to come."
